If It Sounds Too Good To Be True, It Probably Is – FREE Is Not All Its Crack Up To Be – Especially When It Comes To Flash Drive Data Recovery
Okay I’m desperate. I got irreplaceable data my broken flash drive, and I don’t have a lot of money to spend. I had those “Geeks” tell me it will cost several hundred dollars just to take a look at it with no guarantees. Same thing at the local computer shop. You do a search online and find FREE flash drive data recovery service, you’re excited and pat yourself in the back.
So what did you do?
You sent your flash drive in, feeling pretty confident, but in your deep stomach, you feel a pinch but you ignore it, your wallet is speaking louder. A week later you get a response and the company tells you, you need “advanced recovery” and its gonna actually cost a few hundred dollars. You can do three things:
- You freak out, fume, start kicking the walls and then tell this F@$%%ing company to send you your flash drive back. They tell you they will, but then they don’t. They stop all communication. You complain online, and no one listens. You’ve lost your flash drive files forever.
- Your desperate, because you need the files bad, so you give into their schemy tactics and pay them anyways. Kicking yourself for not listening to your gut feeling, that was tugging before.
- You can learn from this and make sure, next time, you do your homework and find a company with good reviews and that has a guarantee somehow.
I hope you learn from this and don’t get trapped into FREE service scams.
Its great if you didn’t have to send them anything. But once you do, out of time, out of desperation, you give in. Why do you think in a hostage exchange, the bad guy has the upper leverage, coz’ they’ve got leverage.
Next time, do your due diligence and search online for reviews and comments. Look at their BBB review, and their social media profiles. Looking at just their site for testimonials, ain’t going to do it.
Hope that helps.
